Justice & Compassion
The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. Psalm 145
The God of heaven and earth is a compassionate God who actively puruses the good of all. The church participates in God's action of love through echoing His compassion toward those in our family, our community, our city, and our world. Sometimes the heartaches and pains we see in this life are so overwhelming that we feel debilitated and without hope. And yet, the God who made us wants to work through his community of people (the church) to bring hope to the hopeless and compassion to the weak. RSL is part of that mission and here are some of the ways we participate in God's great action of renewal.
Supporting Church Plants: RSL is a new church and is part of a network of other churches throughout the United States. We are a church committed to building up other church plants because we believe that more and more people will experience the peace of God and fellowship of the Spirit through church planting.
Second Mile Mission: Second Mile is more than a distribution center - it is an organization concerned with the physical and spiritual needs of those around us. Each family that visits the Mission Center for assistance is greeted personally with a counselor - this enables us to begin a relationship with each person we assist. By better understanding their needs, Second Mile is able to discern ways we can assist both now and in the future.
RUF: Reformed University Fellowship is a ministry to college students. RSL supports the ministry of RUF at Rice University.
International Efforts: RSL also particiaptes in ministries throughout the world. The church is a global movement to see communities transformed by the power of God's grace through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
